Booking.com's new office in South Africa focuses on healthy workplace principles, incorporating fresh air ventilation, passive heating, and cooling technologies, along with maximizing natural light. The design embraces South African cultural elements, particularly inspired by rhythms and musical instruments, using repeating circle shapes symbolizing drums. The color palette combines Booking.com brand colors with neutral tones for a balanced look. The layout promotes activity-based working with various seating options, ergonomic furniture, and collaborative spaces. The design prioritizes Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) through natural light, fresh air, and passive climate control. The incorporation of Booking.com's visual identity throughout the space ensures a cohesive and branded environment, fostering a positive work atmosphere and encouraging employee well-being and collaboration.
Bro’s Brewery, founded by three passionate friends in the beer brewing industry, aims to create a space where people can connect while enjoying beer and the brewing process. The brand emphasizes the 'Grain-to-Glass' process, turning beer's complexity into a magical experience. Bro’s Brewery focuses on creating memories with friends and family, inspired by beer-drinking traditions from various cultures.
For the brewpub design, the brand identity is reflected in a minimalist approach, with colors inspired by the brewing process. The interior space diverges from traditional dark pub aesthetics, opting for a more vibrant and brand-centric design. The outside area draws inspiration from beer gardens, incorporating biophilic elements to promote a garden atmosphere. The consistent color scheme ties the exterior and interior spaces together, creating a cohesive and inviting environment for patrons to enjoy the beer experience with friends and family.

Inclusive Home
The design project involves remodelling a mid-level budget home for Zara, a 35-year-old graphic designer with limited mobility, and her partner Sam, who owns a solar energy solutions company. Zara relies on forearm crutches due to a congenital joint condition, and the design prioritizes accessibility, featuring wide doorways, flexible seating, lower kitchen counters, and an accessible bedroom and bathroom. The house is designed with an open floor plan, movable furniture, smooth and slip-resistant flooring, and smart home technology for enhanced control. The contemporary style with vibrant touches reflects the couple's modern lifestyle, incorporating sustainability through the seamless integration of solar energy solutions. The layout prioritizes Zara's mobility needs while maintaining functionality for Sam, creating a visually appealing and functional space that enhances the overall well-being of the couple.
The design solution for the Kebab Bistro food franchise focuses on authentically bringing Turkish-German Döner kebabs to South Africa. The design creates a culturally immersive environment with a signature offering of vertically grilled, high-quality meat skewers served in pitas or wraps with fresh salads, vegetables, and flavorful sauces. Emphasizing top-notch equipment and hygiene for a safe dining atmosphere, the design aims to showcase the rich Turkish-German culinary heritage while incorporating South African identity. The colour scheme, inspired by the German flag and South African cultural patterns, along with natural materials, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. Circular design elements, inspired by South African baskets and the restaurant logo, add subtle characteristics, enhancing the overall aesthetic and creating a memorable experience for customers in South Africa.

Skin Aesthetic
The Skin Aesthetic Clinic, part of the Hillcrest Medicross expansion, is set to redefine cosmetic dermatology with advanced facial treatments and an innovative Skin Care Bar. Led by a resident dermatologist, the clinic emphasizes a delicate balance between a clinical atmosphere and fragility in its interior design. The overarching goal is to achieve a minimum five-star rating on the GBSCA Interior Tool, prioritizing a healing environment that enhances functionality and the overall well-being of clients. The clinic's design rationale is informed by comprehensive research, including a precedent study on The Aesthetik Skin and Laser by Joanne Motee and insights from Silva's (2023) recommendations for Skin-clinic/Wellness Centre design. Sustainability is a key focus, with the use of eco-friendly materials and fixtures contributing to a holistic well-being approach. The chosen color palette aims to create a calm naturistic ambiance, and the incorporation of grey cement symbolizes both sustainability features and the beauty of diverse skin types. This meticulous design process ensures that the Skin Aesthetic Clinic not only adheres to contemporary design principles but also fosters a positive and healing experience for its clients.
The Tankwa Geode concept is inspired by the geode rock—rugged and plain on the outside, yet hiding vibrant colours within. This design reflects the duality of the Tankwa Karoo: a dry, dusty landscape that transforms into a vivid floral spectacle after rain.
The exterior embodies a traditional desert lodge aesthetic with earthy tones that blend seamlessly into the surroundings, offering a calm, rustic appeal. Minimalistic yet elegant, it aligns with the Instagram influencer’s desire for picturesque, serene backdrops.
Inside, the design reveals a burst of colour inspired by the rare wildflowers that bloom after rain, creating a dynamic and modern space ideal for TikTok influencers who thrive on interactive, engaging environments. Each room is a vibrant surprise, offering a fresh, youthful contrast to the understated exterior.
